Current P4P rankings

Hi, is it somehow possible to explain how P4P works? I don’t understand how it’s possible that by DDP defeating Strickland, not only did Strickland drop out of the P4P rankings, but Imavov and Chimaev also dropped out, replaced by Brandon Royval, Brandon Moreno, and Ciryl Gane. It doesn’t make sense to me. I understand that there’s a complex algorithm behind it, but it still seems strange to me.

IMO, producing P4P rankings is a task probably better left to the minds of the people. I always found there is a bit of a cult mentality to them.. mixed with some fairy-tale thinking. However, when you have a web site that specializes in rankings.. it is a necessary evil.

It is essentially a bastardized/simplified version of the divisional rankings with a final massaging to handle the divisional differences.

If I'm being completely honest, I don't think our list is bad at all.
