As the foremost MMA promotion in Britain, Cage Warriors schedules many fights across the UK and often finds fighting talent before they go international – Michael Bisping and Conor McGregor are the best examples. While the UFC comes to Britain once a year, Cage Warriors consistently put on a show inside its cities. This year, Cage Warriors 160 is coming to Manchester so for those planning to travel for the event, let’s take a look at some of the sights there are to see in the city during your stay.

British iGaming
While traveling to Manchester, whether it’s from a small UK town or abroad, you have full access to everything the internet has to offer. Being in Manchester gets you some of the fastest internet speeds at hotels and public places, too. This means you can reach into your pocket and find entertainment of all kinds, too many to count. One quintessentially British example is iGaming. Many of iGaming’s biggest names started in the UK and Ireland, and as such, visitors can access an online casino site from most places. Competition is fierce, which is why these sites also run offers like getting 20 free spins with your first deposit to their service.
MMA and casinos have gone together for decades, ever since the UFC decided to make Vegas its home. That said, it isn’t the only British entertainment you’ll find online. All of the standard streaming services are accessible from your phone or laptop, including ones you won’t find elsewhere like ITVX.
The GMP Museum
A former police station converted into a museum, the Greater Manchester Police Museum & Archives might appeal to action fans. It isn’t a typical museum, instead focusing on the development of the city’s police force through industrialization and the Victorian era. Its collections include classic cars enlisted by the police force alongside the equipment and techniques used for policing, creating the modern police force today. It also features the station’s original cells, evidence that was used to solve old cases, and wartime galleries from both world wars.
It’s in the city’s North Quarter, right in the middle of Manchester. From here, the Bowlers Exhibition Centre, where the Cage Warriors fights are happening, is just a 20-minute drive. By public transport, it can be double that. Fortunately, the museum is open from 10:30 AM to 4 PM, so there’s plenty of time to get from A to B.
The IWM North
Similar to the GMP Museum, the Imperial War Museum North is one of five museums dotted around the island. Overlooking Manchester’s ship canal, the museum focuses on Manchester’s involvement during wartime as an industrial center for the UK. That said, it includes things that any war history buff will recognize.
Exhibitions include the invention of tanks, along with a Russian T-34 tank and a US Harrier jet. There’s a lot more there in the way of weapon displays, photographs, and artwork surrounding the last 100 years of military history. This museum is also right next to the Bowlers Exhibition Centre, just a six-minute drive or 20 minutes on public transport.
Manchester is one the UK’s largest cities, so if you’re traveling there for CW 160 this year, these are just some of the top attractions worth checking out before fight night.
